The Safe@Home Course prepares grades 2 to be safe and confident when they are home alone. Over 8 weeks (one hour per week), students build the habits, judgment, and practical skills they need for time on their own before school, after school, or while a parent runs an errand. Built on the nationally recognized Safe Sitter® Safe@Home curriculum and expanded with weekly role play and hands-on practice, the course covers indoor, outdoor, online, and personal safety, emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and a simple system for deciding when to handle a problem, when to call a back-up adult, and when to call 9-1-1.
